Inclusive Prevention Practice – A Workshop on Incorporating Equity Literacy into Adolescent Dating Violence Prevention

PREVNet is pleased to offer a free workshop, presented by Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens, Assistant Professor and Tier II Canada Research Chair (Childhood Health Promotion) in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Social Work, and is jointly appointed to the Department of Psychiatry, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. In this interactive workshop, we will 1) review what is meant by the concept equity literacy; 2) discuss how to incorporate equity literacy into adolescent dating violence prevention; 2) work through a case study on equity literacy; and 4) review relevant resources.

Learning objectives:
• List the four components of equity literacy
• Summarize how the components of equity literacy relate to dating violence prevention
• Identify 1-2 steps that can be taken to improve equity literacy within daily prevention practice
