Canadian Policy to Address Youth Dating Violence: What Educators and Caregivers Need to Know – Panel Discussion

28 octobre 2021 @ 19:00 - 20:00 EDT

PREVNet is pleased to host this panel discussion “Canadian Policy to Address Youth Dating Violence: What Educators and Caregivers Need to Know”.

Brief description:
COVID-19 continues to demonstrate the critical role policy plays in solving public health problems. In Canada, youth dating violence is a public health problem, but the role of policy in dating violence prevention is often unclear. To address this, PREVNet is excited to announce the launch of “Policies in Canada to Address Youth Dating Violence”. This resource provides a user-friendly summary for educators, caregivers and youth themselves on dating violence-relevant policy in each province and territory. In this panel event, we will review this policy map and discuss what educators and caregivers need to know about dating violence policy in Canada.

Learning Objectives:
Attendees will…
-Understand the prevalence and definition of youth dating violence in Canada
-Explain why dating violence policy is an important part of a holistic prevention approach
-Learn about a resource that will explain youth dating policy in each province and territory
-Examine best practices for responding to youth dating violence disclosures

The online panel presentation will be followed by a Q and A opportunity for participants.  The presentation will be in English; we will provide the PowerPoint slides in both French and English. We are able to provide you with a Certificate of Completion after you have viewed the webinar.

For those unable to join us, we will be recording the webinar and sharing with all of you afterwards.
